Same ole, same ole.
No matter the wrongdoing, the cheating, corruption it's all about protecting your own.
Wonder if Obama will weigh in on this, or if he already has?

This may a bit far fetched but...I think Rangel will resign after the November elections.
It will look real bad for the NYC dem party to have their senior representative in DC resign when a mayoral election is in progress.
The dem mayoral candidate, Bill Thompson, is also a Harlem resident and will give Bloomberg a run for his money. A resignation by Rangel will hurt this opportunity to return City Hall to the dems.
Also, if Thompson loses he can then run in the special election to replace Rangel.

philipe--interesting theory---but you're the first person I've ever heard utter the words that Thompson stands a snowball's chance of beating Bloomberg....

Thompson is quickly closing the gap.
On September 24 Bloomberg held a 16 point lead.
Yesterday WABC TV had the race at 51-42 for Bloomberg. Marist had it at 52-43.
Some other polls have it wider with Quinnipiac havving Bloomberg ahead by 16.
Remember, Bloomberg was behind in both 2001 and in 2005. This race could be a lot closer than most people think.

House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio, said the resolution's defeat is "the latest example of Speaker Pelosi breaking her promise to have the most 'open and ethical' Congress in history."
"Instead of holding Chairman Rangel accountable for his actions, House Democrats are once again circling the wagons and demonstrating their loyalty to a leader who faces serious questions about his official conduct," Boehner said in a statement.
Imagine that a group of crooks protecting their own. A couple decades or so in DC seems to rot their brains. My cat understands ethics better than Pelosi.
